I randomly came across this cover.
I'm used to hearing male vocalists covering this song.
The first time I heard that song was when Kyuhyun was covering it in Super Junior Mini-Drama.
I have interpreted this song as being a song about a guy, who has feelings for a woman, but she has a boyfriend. And the boyfriend is making her cry and not being nice to her, so this guy tells her boyfriend to "please love her".
Well... I guess that is a green flag.
The lyrics also reminds me of Verbal Jint's "You Deserve Better" (and that song reminds me of Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better", but I prefer Verbal Jint's song)
With a female vocalist, it makes it sound like this is about a woman having feelings for another woman, but that woman has a boyfriend. (or at least the English translation makes it seem that way)
I found out about another female version, where it seems like the lyrics have changed and the genders are switched, so that is about a woman having feelings for a man, who has a girlfriend. (okay, the lyrics doesn't seem specify if it is a man...)
But well... I like the original version too.
