But maybe you are right. He can post a poll publicly and publicize votes and only count votes from people who voted in previous rounds. Or he can do the way he was doing.

It certainly wouldn't be deleted if he was a staff member authorized for the SOTY polls.

There is no rule that only mods can post SOTY polls.

He did the final poll for SOTY 2022, and it's not deleted. I think that serves as proof that there is no rule saying that only mods can post SOTY polls.

Maybe it's because votes aren't transparent? No idea. i don't get why would voting for anything that doesn't break forum rules not be allowed
