it's similar here in Poland

and the price is sometimes less than 1 euro for 1 kg

I think that fruits have such high price in Korea and in Japan due to countries location, well JPN is an island far east, and then Korea basically is also an island because of North Korea (they are blocking all potential land trade routes)
