IU is the master of using internal dissent in major companies.
In 2011, when she dethroned SNSD, she used the internal conflict between Super Junior and SNSD to the fullest.
At that time the guy actually running SM (Lee Sooman got into some trouble and was nominally away) greatly favored boy acts.
When SNSD released its repackage, with Mr. Taxi, an already known song, the division which ran Super Junior harmed the effort by releasing a Super Junior Unit, D&E, Donghae, and Eunhyuk who would be forever associated with IU for something which happened the next year.
Something like that is happening now with the Le Sserafim bout against IU in mid Feb.
IU had recognized the superiority of New Jeans, and she tended to ignore all covers of her by Le Sserafim members.
It is said Le Sserafim is directly run by Bang's direct staff. Which means if LS beats IU, Min Heejin's growing stranglehold in Hybe can be slowed.
There are so many variables in this bout, but if LS downs IU, which only Laboum and Suran, both of them no longer really relevant after their 15 minutes of fame, managed to do, LS becomes superior at least in Korea.
Of course the tokkis won't tolerate that.
So that makes the IU-Le Sserafim fight really a fight between NewJeans ans LS.
The 2011 fight between SNSD and IU was really SNSD and Super Junior, and Sones vs ELFs. The ELFs sided with IU because they wanted IU to end SNSD's domination, which she did, although the ELFs became hostile to IU later after she revealed her most famous photograph.
So it is quite likely that the Bunnies will support IU, just to stop Fearnots.
It will be an interesting fight which will influence Hybe's future significantly.
