There has been a few dozens of Vietnamese Idol groups that have been formed and where either influenced by K-pop Idol styles or J-pop Idol styles but nearly all of them officially disbanded or are inactive as no Vietnamese Idol groups became popular with the exception of one Vietnamese Idol group which was the Vietnamese Idol boy group 365daband which was influenced by K-pop Idol style and released a V-pop music video for children called "Bống Bống Bang Bang" (that got more than half-a-million views and is still the most viewed Vietnamese music video to this day) to promote the Vietnamese live-action movie "Tấm Cám: The Untold Story" which was based on the Vietnamese fairy tale "Tấm Cám" :
4 years after their disbandment, 365daband released a V-pop new music video called "Trạng Tí" to promote a Vietnamese movie for children called 'Trạng Tí phiêu lưu ký" but It never became as popular as their biggest hit song "Bống Bống Bang Bang" and 365daband became inactive :
There are now only 3 remaining active Idol groups in Vietnam and all those 3 remaining active Idol groups happen to be Vietnamese Idol girl groups influenced by J-pop Idol styles :
1) The crazy edgy Vietnamese J-pop Idol girl group Polaris Idol Group based in Hanoi, Northern Vietnam that was formed as an independent Vietnamese Idol girl group in May 2016 by Rei, Rin and their leader Shiki then became owned in April 2019 by the Japanese company 3W inc. Entertainment which owned the J-pop yankee themed Idol girl group C-Style :
2.1) The cute independent Vietnamese V-pop and J-pop Idol yume kawaii girl group Niji Universe Inc. based in Saigon, Southern Vietnam that made their stage debut on 14 August 2016 by the Vietnamese leader Nhu Ngoc Huynh who was a former Idol of Niji Universe Inc. known as Kami Fuurin or by her stage name as Fuu and who is still the owner of Niji Universe Inc. :
2.2) Niji Universe Inc. also has a cute electronic dance music (EDM) kawaii sub-unit called MEGAMI that released their debut music video on 25 February 2023 :
3) The wholesome classy Vietnamese V-pop Idol girl group END OF IDOL based in Saigon, Southern Vietnam that was formed in 2021 owned by YATTA! Idol Management Agency whose owner is a Thai producer called Rei Nuttanon whose real name is Trapnirundon Nuttanon :
