Does anyone know why in some of the categories the Explicit and Clean version are separated?

no I know that the clean version was sold separately in china, what I meant was I thought that for best selling single/international single/male single/kpop single they were combined as only one is mentioned.
After thinking about it, the explicit version sold around 500k while the clean version sold around 200k, I guess the clean version didn't sell enough to be nominated in those 4 categories so the account didn't bother to specify that it was the explicit version that got nominated since there was only one version of the song in the category

Simple answer to your question could be each category classifies what gets combined and what doesn't. Maybe if he wins (which I don't think he will we shall see) they will go in depth on the breakdown like Circle and GDA does. Again, many ARMY, myself included were led to believe BTS does horrible in China so not a lot of our chart accounts update us on that market (if at all) but clearly we've been lied to as V has the best selling physical album for male acts and Jungkook for digital album.

true saoju does have limited data, but from what is there it's apparent the explicit ver sold much more which bagged it nominations in the main categories.
when are vips not pressed about bts is a better question lol, making assumptions based on one website just bcs it's the most easily accessible data available to us is stupid. do they really believe the organisation behind the award show are giving out awards based on incomplete data?

i think this is more like a butter situation. the butter single sold the most which got it the most nominations, then there was the butter/ptd single and the butter remixes which sold enough to get noms but did not win. they won't combine different singles that were sold separately even if they're practically the same song.
Jk will probably win both the male and western categories since i can't think of any singles that sold better. on a side note i do find it interesting that he was nominated in both kpop and western, is it bcs of the feature?
