A woman's body was discovered in a pond in Phnom Penh, on June 6, wrapped in a blanket.

As a result of a local police investigation, it was revealed that she was BJ Ahyeong, an AfreecaTV influencer with more than 250,000 followers on Instagram. She reportedly was visiting Cambodia with an acquaintance for tourism purposes.

The local police arrested a Chinese couple who run a local hospital on charges of abandoning BJ Ahyeong's body. According to the suspects, she died at the hospital on June 4 due to a seizure incurred while receiving treatment. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

While people thought initially that she died due to medical malpractice and was dumped as part of a coverup, experts on the scene allegedly initially concluded she was beaten to death. Something really nefarious went down.
