BTS was still leagues above their Western counterparts also doing online concerts in 2020-2021. *No one in K-pop was comparable in 2020-2021*. But Western journalists still held their Western acts with the highest regard as if BTS in the same year as them also doing virtual concerts didn't make that narrative look stupid AF. When BTS does something head-on in the same time frame as others, they come out on top of whatever metric they were being compared to.
But I get it, they will never write "BTS beat western artist" LMAO but one day, the reality of the situation will be so abundantly clear, that they will have no choice but to state it as so.
