BTS opened their invidual instagram in Dec 2021 so they already planned to focus on solo activities and there was pressure for them to enlist hence the reporters bringing it up on the press conference of their PTD Las Vegas...
Sure, but a world tour still could have worked within the scope of the year even as the solo projects (really just Hobi's) started. They've done it before! I just think HYBE is terrible at planning and wasted their year (a year that started with so much promise!).
Logical: Announce Proof as greatest hits album, announce corresponding tour (basically their Eras tour), announce after Proof/mid-tour that Hobi is also dropping his project in July. He can still play Lolla etc.
