The act forces radio stations to pay not only the songwriters involved but also the performers, musicians and the producers. That in theory already seem like they won't do so less radio payola incoming? Interested to see how the BB HOT 100 will be affected. But one things for sure this is a win fir BTS and ARMY because now labels will prioritize fans (ACTUAL CONSUMERS) to weigh more than forced passive listening.

What are your thoughts AKP ARMY?

  • I don’t see how this will stop payola.

They will have to pay EVERYONE involved in the song that gets each and evey spin. So if artist A label normally pays for 100 spins on the radio, and the song becomes viral, then it's not only the songwriters radio stations have to pay now. It's going to be everyone on the track, the label and the radio stations. That's alot of money radio stations will start to lose if they paid everyone fair and square. The cause and effect here means fair pay=less radio spins.

Won't matter. This makes it worse, the corruption will just run deeper. Radio stations will only work with big labels they are affiliated with or have deep contracts with. So let's say Taylor swift company and her as an artist will be who they work with primarily as they set whatever payments kickbacks discounts etc already setup and under the rug. New comers like say Kanye west and his company are likely not to be featured as the station doesn't want to pay more money to an outsider. This example will go for BTS and any other forgien act
