In retrospect, trot was a huge blessing on disguise to KPop

  • To the umpteenth time, I say that K-O-R-E-A and the people living in K-O-R-E-A have been the worst enemy of KPop you could imagine, and whatever they liked were not conducive for KPop.

Im Changjung caused a HUGE harm to KPop by taking the #1 in the Gallup ratings with a song which doesn't even have an English TItle, and Yoon Jongshin, who never really was near the top, did the same with his song in 2017 (although the alternative, Through the Night, would not be any better)

Such kind of middle aged singers, liked mostly by K-O-R-E-A-N men in their 30s and 40s, skewing the Kpop votes and putting them at meaningless #1s while denying worthier KPop acts the dominance continued until 2019.

But, ironically, the rise of trot proved to be positive for KPop in the end, although it did crowd out a lot of digital portion of KPop in the height of the trot boom thanks to the over-50 crowd trying to put their faves to the top of the heap , making them somewhat feel good by defeating the younger ones and frustrating them.

Instead of their faves dominating over KPop acts, the over-50 people only succeeded putting their trottists into a league of their own, completely irrelevant outside of their specialized niches.

The trottists, though not by design, succeeded isolating the over-40 pop from KPop completely.

and, even better, trot basically killed all these Korea-only balladists who catered to the K-O-R-E-A-N-S over 35. All of them were swept into the inland sea of trot, with hardly anyone paying attention to the balladists who now mostly went into hiatuses.

In one shot, trot killed all the domesticists who were continuing to snipe on KPoppers, making the latter worry free.

By removing a huge portion of K-O-R-E-A-N-S potentially hostile to KPop away from competition, in one stroke trot made KPop a lot safer.

Whatever the K-O-R-E-A-N-S over 35 will like, that won't matter any more. Trot made sure they were no longer relevant.

Also, it would lead to any potential IUs and Akmus to go into trot, since the money is easier. Away, out of KPop.

The trot boom among older K-O-R-E-A-N-S won't go away. With NewJeans putting IU out of business, the 4th Gen of KPop can now fly to the world without having to worry about IU and the older K-O-R-E-A-N balladists who liked to throw a tantrum or two when they felt like.
