Not to defend the korean gvt but, high level professional athlete can't stop doing their sport for 2 years.

only thing i will say is that bts going is probably the best (and what they have always said they would do) in the end. they will be free from that vile government misusing them with no respect for them.

good luck exercising their soft power on their own.

There are some cases of sports players who got stuck in K-O-R-E-A and ended up there. Their stories are obscure to non K-O-R-E-A-N-S which is why I am not using them. The reforms to allow top sports players to get exemptions only began in late 1980s.
