Will Lee Chaeyeon or Kwon Eunbi achieve better results in their October showdown?

  • Both Iz*One soloists are coming in October.

Lee Chaeyeon's solo debut and Kwon Eunbi's comeback.

Who will do better in the charts, get more album sales, or have more media attention, if any?

    Approved the thread.
  • This one is hard to predict. Chaeyeon might have more international fans so sales might end up ok. But on the other hand Chaeyeon was the least popular member of IZ*ONE if measured by member-specific goods sales. Not sure if she has that many dedicated fans. Her covers etc. always get a lot of attention and I believe the media attention will be in her favor but I'm not sure if it will result in sales.

I think they will do about equally well but if I have to pick I'll say Eunbi will do a tiny bit better, her latest release was very well received so I suspect she will improve her numbers.

  • maybe more will be watching lee chaeyeon simply because it is a solo debut, but i wouldn't anticipate any to do extremely well at this point.

  • Eunbi has 60k sales consistently, very impressive for female soloists. Even well known names like Somi, Soyeon, and Chungha cant match these numbers, only Yuri, Yena, Miyeon and the 3rd gen supergroups with huge fandoms can do better.

But Wizones will have too many options to choose from, Eunbi, Chaeyeon and Lesserafim to buy for.

This will be a true test of their buying power and fandom loyalty. Will Eunbi still maintain 60k? Will LSRFM be able to surpass 500k?

I've been thinking 25k as the target number for Chaeyeon. So far, she only has 1k in preorders although it's still early.

  • Seulgi is gonna come in swinging

  • Somi had about 60k in sales, and that's one of her weakest numbers. Chungha had 30k, but 2.5M single sales for Roller Coaster and Gotta Go.

  • Chaeyeon - I don't know, she was not the most popular in Izone, but she has other things going for her since Sixteen.. so it could go either way. Like how idols extremely loved attract hate, Idols who attract hate are supported too.

Euni like Yuri and even Yena - are just pushing on to make as much money as possible from physical sales to the Wizones, before the fandom runs out.

I don't expect her to do any better.

But these predictions in Kpop can all be changed, but a great song or a viral moment.

  • Seulgi is gonna come in swinging

You might be right actually, Seulgi debut could steal the spotlight. All 3 have a kind of a similar vibe within their group. In February Yena and Yuju had solo debuts at the same time and Yena kinda got all the attention there. Seulgi debut is going to be a spectacle..

This will be a true test of their buying power and fandom loyalty. Will Eunbi still maintain 60k? Will LSRFM be able to surpass 500k?

LSFM comeback might also be bad news for the soloists because WIZ*ONEs WILL prioritize LSFM if they have to choose which album to buy, Sakura and Chaewon are just overwhelmingly popular members within IZ*ONE.

What I'm personally hoping for is that Eunbi at least maintains her good track record. Her latest release was just perfect and there is a sense that she might have gained some (non-WIZ*ONE) new fans with it.. ? Hopefully that's not me being delusional. Basically all these IZ*ONE solos career longevity depends on having some kind of influx of new fans, else it will just be a slow bleed of ever reducing WIZ*ONEs supporting them.

  • Why is this in anons?
