Blackpink’s Born Pink comeback underwhelming sales, tours, Korean charts. What went wrong?

    The only saving grace of the comeback are the songs charting on Spotify. But so far, everything else has been weak. They tour in same venues as Twice even though Blinks expect they would book stadiums now. Blocked in Kcharts by 2 rookie girl groups. Hanteo sales lower than Enhypen for the first 4 days. The songs also don’t make any noise at all. What went wrong for Blackpink?

    Their songs are doing worse in some metrics than the BTS song they called flop.

    Blinks said they focused on Spotify this comeback. That's why their numbers are ok.

    I admire their determination and passion for streaming. Army, MY and Once complain when the song is bad and let it flop. But Blinks are true soldiers.

    remember before august how confident blinks were. :pepe-joy: . tunes suddenly changed. YG sabotaging them etc. i see on twitter they giving albums away with free tickets? such establish groups have fandoms asking for funds for streaming parties.

    No one set Blackpink up than their fans tbh. They will suddenly blame YG for everything like the usual kpop fans syndrome when the results that they want or created inside their head didn't met.


    From the weird & illogical excuses that Blinks made up of YG not booking stadiums in the US because it's football season when a lot of artists never had a problem booking. BTS even performed in Sofi Stadium in November just 3 days before the Superbowl happened. And Bad Bunny, The Weekend & Elton John will also tour in Stadiums in October this year.


    The songs they've released are still similar to their song formulas and none are experimental enough to underperform in the kcharts enough to be blocked by new groups. There is barely any growth from their last cb. If anything, The album & their Singles & TT made more noise if I'm being honest.


    Imagine how their cb this year will underperform if YG didn't made all the stops to promote them like getting Spotify deals & great spotify placements and etc...

    Not really. Their streams barely had any growth from The Album in 2020. With their growth from 2 yrs ago (backed up with their social stats) and Spotify huge increased of listeners, they should've did better than what they were doing now. The difference is the global charts on Spotify is very weak now. If they coincidence their releases during AS IT WAS, RUNNING UP THE HILL and Bad Bunny's releases the ranking would be way way different. Also, remember that chart rankings are not all that since it depends on the competition. And like I said, it's weak af rn. Compared to kcharts hence Blackpink only peaked at 2 & 4 there.

    and yg is know for bad shipping, it happen with the album, lalisa and with hylt single

    Well don’t forget that the great Blink Prognosticator said BP will be doing their giant stadium tour next year 2023 because YG booked these smaller venues and didn’t want to cancel. What a pile of crap
