Why BP needs promo to surpass rookies like IVE & NewJeans?

Aren’t they established and ngg? Rookies need more promo to even crack the charts because no one knows them and don’t have a brand, that’s normal and not a prerequisite for success

Without promo you lose your relevance, it's simple as that. One tactic can only work for a limited time.

Korean charts are promo dependant. YTC is a song of the biggest group ever and they still fell without promo.

Not really an argument, that is up to everyone's different point of view, but the thing is that if the song got to be promoted it would have sustained in the top 10 for a long time. One of SK likes is ballads and chill songs, YTC is one of those.

twice songs havent charted good in the past 5 years even with promos. its not really an advantage to be an older group. korean gp like fresh new groups and super young idols. so many big company girl group debut songs topped the charts beating older established artists. meanwhile its very rare for girl groups to still be charting well when theyre 6+ years old
