You do realize that it is the gov that hasn’t called for BTS to enlist yet? BTS said they would enlist when/ if called to. There is NO CALL and you can blame the gov for that, not BTS. BTS never said they would eagerly jump at the chance to enlist and will 100% enlist even if given an exemption. That would be pure stupidity as evidenced by all the toxic Kpop fans demanding that BTS enlist. These toxic turds don’t give AF about fairness or equality, they just want BTS gone. What is fair and equal is to not have any exemptions (no exceptions) and force women to enlist also. Pretty sure GG stans would whine and scream misogyny if that happened.

The government knows the impact of BTS on their economy and soft power better than someone haunting AKP everyday all day. The government also knows that they benefit from better treatment (due to BTS) from foreign officials. They went from third class to second class treatment. Do you think they want to go back to third class? The whole Busan concert is to curry favor with foreign officials because these officials wanted to meet and see BTS. Otherwise they would continue ignoring SK politicians. You have a literal interview with some SK official stating this.

cant remember where exactly i heard this but sk men can push back their notice 3-5 times and can't do any more push backs after it.

i believe so because the gov are still struggling to give them the yes or no answer to exemption. they've been dragging this for over 5 years already. they're even discussing how to make use of bts during their enlistment, they want them to keep the oversea schedules/ concerts while serving, the politicians even talk amongst themselves which events bts should attend to promote korea or their political agenda etc.
