Somi is the only non-full Korean it girl. How does she do it?

We know a hidden rule that if you’re a foreigner or half Korean, it’s impossible to become an it girl. Tzuyu, Sana, Bahiyyih all had potential but isn’t full Korean, so they can’t become one. Yet Somi managed to have hit songs and have steady CFs. Why do Koreans make an exception for Somi?

Above answers, but also two factors caused her recent spike in popularity. Sadly the less Korean she looks, the more they like her. She won't be putting the bleach bottle down for a while.

That's veteran IT girl behavior. Like IU, but to a lesser degree, and all the IT girls over the years have nothing on IU in Korea... only the pinks if you include the whole world.
