Probably could find them, but I read that you have to enforce activity rules and that kind of sounds burdensome

It is, and it’s not easy to have one at all. You can start an artist thread anytime. You don’t need any additional people involved to start that, and you just post updates on the group whenever there are any and give links to places like Twitter or YouTube for the news or teasers or variety show stuff and so on. I don’t know much about how to start one, so ask around, but in comparison to a guild, it’s much easier to set up.

I was never a big TV show guy. I couldn't make it past the first seasons of Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead. And medieval stuff like Game of Thrones makes me want to get a tetanus shot.... I feel like I got spoiled by great anime and film.

The Sopranos, the first three seasons of the BBC Sherlock series (I HIGHLY recommend this), a few seasons of NCIS, Stranger Things, Daredevil, Cobra Kai, Jessica Jones and a LOT of Japanese Dramas and a few old school sitcoms when they aired back in the day.

Yeah, watching anime for years took me away from TV shows. Especially when you had long running shows like the 90s Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, all the Gundam series, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Gintama, etc.
