BTS vs Blackpink VMAs

  • The eligibilty period for last year's VMAS was June 2020 - June 2021.

A group who just released single is nominated for the group of the year.

    There's a clear winner already.

  • This are defined by fans poll on instagram though, VMAS just nominates the biggest groups only. No one was expecting them to nominate certain shein copy or those 8 jyp boys when they aren't that big

    Voting never mattered

yeah and Harry has a comparable fandom with BTS, even if you don't want to hear it. Why else do you think his album has been so big in streaming when his only hit is As it was?

Blackpink and the Beatles released same amount of music in eligibility period and the Beatles did better than blackpink. Coldplay who have one of the most successful releases this year aren't nominated. Because they know if they give bp after nominating cold play they will get bashed by locals. It is clear what vmas is doing.

  • Funny to see people talking about the VMAs as if anyone cares about them lol

Coldplay wasn't nominated? I mean they haven't make that much noise since vivalavida or whatever their 2010s song hit was called though, they only collabed with BTS and it was much more on BTS side than their side. The Beatles is such an stupid example, BP never said they were disbanding or went into an hiatus, just didn't drop any new material in 2021, but they did the show, the jp version, participated in the cop26, rs cover, they had a much major noise than Hallie and Chloe despite them releasing new material. Of course they were getting nominated
