SNSD vs Blackpink: Who has more impact?

    Saying that BP were riding BTS's coat-tails, SNSD arguably same thing though. Psy went global viral with Gangnam Style, it was after that SNSD and Wonder Girls started showing up in the west.


    SNSD had a lot of influence on the industry. Twice literally started out as generic brand SNSD. But also however much it's denied, Blackpink had a strong influence on 4th gen.


    If I had to choose SNSD's impact is more potent because it came first. Doing something first is always harder.

    There's a recent translated post on pannchoa about was snsd as popular as twice now (in 2018).

    Basically "My mouth would be tired and hurt from explaining".

    I really doubt bp are that popular in Korea where even old people know each member. Bp didn't even top Gallop and only appeared in the upper middle in 2020. Meanwhile Snsd had dominated it for a decade.

    There's even a saying "In Korea we have *korean famous food*, Park Jisung AND Snsd". Plus they have gee and genie. I don't know how dududu could be a legacy song that could be enjoyed by kids and old people in Korea.


    The only impact I would think of bp did is their luxury ambassadors thing and making girl crush popular again, but that was already a thing thanks to 2ne1. I don't know what else they brought that changed the game. Anything related to usa is claimed by bts. They just happened to be the group with the music westerners could listen to

    pann is notorious for being bp antis and just accept snsd has the biggest impact in sk vs bp overall and move on and stop using bts. ughh typical gg stans, when losing an argument, bring up bts card, bunch of wuss

    Blinks are delusional. There’s literal evidence of how massive SNSD either though actual stats of the time (and blinks love stats) or through more qualitative evidence such as being name dropped on dramas, being shown on national news every cb, Korean government using them as representative of tourism and world friendship, top/stay high in Gallup, invited to every show under the sun and having multiple of their own shows to the point the phrase “you can’t watch tv without seeing SNSD” became common.


    And let’s not forget how BP were originally planned to be YGSNSD. You can’t get more influential than being the inspiration for the creation of another group, Twice exist purely of SNSD blueprint and members who auditioned because of SNSD (Momo and Sana).


    Outside BTS for their accolades there has been no other group that’s been that well loved in Korea. Bp do very well on charts but outside that they don’t even match what Twice achieved with Korea as whole.

    Isn’t pannchoa basically like allkpop? Why are you taking those comments seriously? Lol
