It’s always been this way. It’s just more noticeable with GG fandoms now because there isn’t as much competition among boy groups.
About that last part of what you said… Oh, they definitely appreciate behind the scenes. They’re just bored, so they say things to get a reaction for fun. Fan wars have always been part of the fun for a lot of K-pop fans.
