What's hybe's criteria to debut idols?

Itzy seem to be able to sing live as well as dance, plus they chart better than all other SM groups, so I'm not sure what SM has to offer to anyone that isn't a nostalgia addict

Rejected trainees because no one wants to audition with the company. We have more talented idols in nugu groups than with hybe how surprising

Potential?

• Visuals. Not the unattainable SM type, but also less attainable/natural(?) than JYP or YG. Faces that can be considered unique and plain at the same time. Straight nose bridges, full but not too prominent lips, rounded facial structures, slightly arched or inward tilted eyebrows appear to be the preference?
• Being able to dance decently. You don't need to be an amazing dancer individually, just look good dancing in a group.
• Vocal colors that aren't too prominent so that the songs the groups receive don't have to be personalized.

They really forgot to focus on vocals for a bit
