Who paved the way for Digipaks, Jewel Case, Member versions, etc?

  • I seriously don't know but whoever started it is a genius. I think there's gonna be a race to see who does 20 versions and you'll see some group hitting 5mil.

  • Daddy LSM, the father of all the BS that goes on in kpop, if it's shady, or fucked up, all roads lead to SM.

  • i believe the digipacks trend for kpop started from kpop related releases in Japan.

The korean release that I first know of the big impact on sales is NMIXX debut (light ver technically not digipack but it is even cheaper than a digipack) followed by Lesserafim (Monochrome), Ive's Love Dive (member ver) and latest Kep1er. StayC also did it but not sure about the magnitude of impact

  • Ive was literally the only new 4th gen group that did NOT debut with digipacks. They only added digipack after Love Dive. And Digipacks have been around long before them. 3rd gen boy groups and girl groups have been doing it long before them. Stop talking trash.

They popularized it for 4th generation with love dives sm took notes and made several individual versions for aespa they didn’t debut with digipacks

  • It was a big deal when EXO dropped 20 versions for Exodus. They weren’t the first but that was one of the most talked about at the time.
