Oh, now the cutoff is top 5.
There are 3 SM groups in the top 10 of all kpop groups. By kpop standards - and within the kpop niche - they are excelling. (Outside of the niche, no one is excelling except BTS, who is the only kpop group in the top 100 most streamed artists on Spotify.)
Again, many many other kpop acts - even trendy ones - are below them.

Well we’re talking about sm. For example: It would be strange if nct wasn’t in top 10 when they’re the second best selling group and many are below them that’s true not disagreeing with that. Aespa has similar streams as other popular 4th gen girlgroups (I’ve, itzy) or maybe a little bit lower but their sales are much more. They do well but people might have higher expectations and kpop fans always see things as black and white so I’m not suprised by this
