RE : Most kpop groups are carried by SEA fans on Spotify

What's the difference between YouTube a few years ago that used to be looked down upon for the dependence on SEA to Spotify now for kpop groups, that fans have become obsessed with?

Spotify is seen as a big aspect of western validation so gets paraded around when kpop groups are carried just as hard by SEA fans on it (more recently Japan as well), as they were on YouTube.
