After Itzy's comeback, I find the shear idea of it so hard to wrap my head around.
I feel like this kind of thing isn't rocket science.
While SM and JYP are busy putting out Kwangya cringe AI music and wacky Disney channel welcome to lazy town non-sense you have a group like this that eats up both Aespa and Itzy musically and they aren't from Korea, they are made by a whole ass Japanese company.
The crazy part about this is that if this group was released by either JYP or SM they would have EXPLODED in popularity in the West. Don't even try and argue with me about this.
And like, I could totally understand if SM and JYP weren't pushing to break into the West with their groups, but it's obvious they are, especially SM with Aespa. The issue is they put NO thought whatsoever into the market and I just can't understand what is going on inside their heads.
Like it really shouldn't require all this forced push (talking about SM specifically here) just to scrape together nothing in the end.
it's like instead of pushing what would actually do well, they are bending over backward and jumping through hoops putting out music that literally nobody ask for and then when they don't get the expected results, they just double down on their already failed approach.
This is why I see so much potential in IVE, Lessarafim, and G-idle in the West. HYBE, Starship, and Cube at least seem to have their heads on their body.
