It's hard to enjoy aespa because the group looks like they hate their metaverse concept.

everytime they talk about naevis or blackmamba, they laugh knowing it's silly. If they are creating this whole new universe, they should look like they themselves fully enjoy it rather than feeling embarassed and creating an awkward atmosphere. It's off putting for me.

Just scrap the whole metaverse concept and start new again. Only SM could make this work with their huge fan following but it has very less longevity and the novelty of the whole universe is already lost for me in just 2 years. Eveb the girls are not convincing me to stay interested in it.

They are grown adults. How can they not cringe while doing such a corny childish concept? it sucks but that's just how it is. I doubt they can petition SM to switch it up, though I hope for their sake that Interpol most-wanted Soo Man does recover from his senile disorder and retire so someone better can save the idols in SM.

I don't blame them. I would die inside if I had to sing about kwangya, flat, naevis for a living. But hey money is money.

I do feel kinda bad because most of them trained for a long time and entered SM thinking they would be like the other ggs in the company SNSD, RV and fx but ended up having to sing about lores and having ai counterparts. MYs are enjoying it though so there's always something for everyone. I do wonder how it will do longevity wise because they probably wouldn't want to be singing about lores (talking about title tracks) when they get older. SM will probably slowly decrease the association to the lores in their songs.

I'd be embarrassed too. It's an incredibly stupid concept that is also handled in a very gimmicky, corny way.

It doesn't help that the Metaverse stuff as a whole (not just the aespa concept but as a whole idea) is not popular with most of the public, who associate Metaverse with unpopular stuff Facebook, Zuckerberg, lame cryptobros, NFT's, a gross world where no one leaves the house and spends the day with ugly helmets on their head etc.

I've never met someone real world who is genuinely excited about the Metaverse, which taints aespas metaverse concept.
