    Why did Taeyeon went back to commercial kpop music?
    Her latest 2 releases INVU and Weekend are clearly mainstream kpop target that included a choreo, music shows performances and even a be original video, why did she returned to promote like a mid tier kpop act despite already solidifying herself as a ballad queen in South Korea during 2017-2020?

    Taeyeon is the most versatile singer in kpop and has a lot of styles both as a solo and SNSD including "mainstream" stuff. Her ballads in the day were literally what the public regularly listened to aka the definition of mainstream. If she can do put out anything she wants and find huge success then that is very impressive especially considering most soloists don't have long lasting careers as is.
