Ever heard of the Rumor or Telephone game? Where a player spreads a rumor to the next and the next until it reaches the last player?
Well kpop stans do the same. They spread what they heard or read on twitter/forums from other kpop stans until the entire story is manipulated to suit their bias towards the idol/fandom it is about. Then the story gets twisted.
Thought about making a thread to clarify stuff like that
For example:
1. YEONJUN AND BIG HIT/HYBE WERE NOT THE FIRST ONES TO REFER TO HIM AS AN IT BOY
It was done by MOAs first for fun and during VLIVE sessions, Yeonjun read it and thanked his fans for even referring to him like that. Then said he would work hard so that he can fit the title they gave to him. So eventually it stuck and this led the company to pick up on it.
But kpop stans have spread rumors so much they no longer know the truth. What they say now is that Yeonjun is arrogant and that's why he claimed to be an it boy or HYBE chose him to be the it boy and that's why they use it. The FANS gave him that title and that's what they CHOSE to call him. If you want to blame fans for hyping their faves then go ahead but get the story straight.
2. ARMY DID NOT START THE PAVING THE WAY ARGUMENTS
Want to know the backstory for this one? I am willing to give you a run down. Or I'll just let an ARMY do it for me.
But the point is, use this thread to shed light on some things that arent true about your faves or your fandom.
