Why do stray kids flop so miserably in Korea?

  • Internationally, they’re ahead of most of their generation and even most of third generation, but domestically, they lag even more than some mid-tier groups. Why so?

  • JYP brand for boygroups doesn't hold any power, they aren't well-promoted domestically since their agency prefer to go through the fan-content route kind of promotion on Youtube and they are active in an era where Korea isn't even giving a chance to new male groups in the first place to have an opinion about them or their music.

    Not matter how talented a group is and how great music they do, If you don't give a chance, how will you know it? It's about lucky.

    Maybe If they go viral one day, this scenery may change. Even internationally, they became big because God's Menu happened, the same effect needs to happen in Korea.

  • They don't really have that IT member that appeals to Korean gp. Hyunjin is the most popular member but for the wrong reason and he doesn't fit Korean's beauty standard either.

  • They don't really have that IT member that appeals to Korean gp

    You don't need an it member to appeal to the Korean gp if you're a 4th gen bg cause they ignore bgs anyway. Same goes for songs, concept, etc. Doesn't matter if it never gets widespread attention

    Hyunjin is the most popular member but for the wrong reason

    What wrong reason? You know no one cares about that scandal apart from jobless pann users, right? :cryingr: He's still the most popular SKZ member there.

    and he doesn't fit Korean's beauty standard either

    what now :cryingr::cryingr:

    He does have what Koreans call a "trendy" face. It's a tiny bit different from the "traditional" beauty standard (that Lee Know represents the best in the group) but it's not less.

  • I was going to say questionable music but then remembered some of the stuff that's been charting high lately.
