In a 2015 interview: Question: "Gangnam-ssi is very popular these days among female students." Nam Joo Hyuk: "But the type of shouting is a bit different. When Gangnam hyung goes by them, they go 'wahhh' as if someone funny is going by them, but when I walk by them, their shouting sounds a bit more like they're in awe? And I can hear them saying stuff like 'He's so damn handsome.'"
Question: "When will we get to see Nam Joo Hyuk in an evil character role?" Nam Joo Hyuk: "Someday. But before that, can I please give the name of the dentist that first got my teeth fixed at? So that I can tell them to go bankrupt."

In another instance when actress Jo Hye Jung was streaming on Instalive and only getting 1k viewers, co-star Lee Sung Kyung turned hers on and instantly got 10,000 viewers, to which Nam Joo Hyuk taunted, "Hye Jung-ah, just turns yours off. Hye Jung-ah, don't let this intimidate you~" Lee Sung Kyung also taunted, "Why are you looking so intimidated ㅋㅋ", eventually leading to Jo Hye Jung turning off her stream.
