The Yedam situation got weirder

Yesterday, sometime around midnight in Korea, an account called thefaceofanoth posted a video. A video of Yedam singing an unreleased song.

Here is a reupload, as thefaceofanoth deactivated a few hours ago.

Apparently this isn't the first time this happens

But the timing is odd and Yedam hasn't been active on Weverse at all since the announcement of the hiatus, according to teumes. Why would he make an unauthorized Twitter account to leak his own song, if he is inactive everywhere else? Or could this be a person with access to Yedam's files messing with his fandom? But if that was the case, why didn't YG or Yedam ensure that this never happens after again the first leak?

It’s really weird. I know Teumes and YG stans say he’s for sure coming back to cope but don’t think he’s coming back to Treasure. He should have gone solo from the beginning or placed in a group with a fewer members. He’s being wasted in Treasure.

Yes, I've been thinking about this possibility too. But I've seen teumes saying that Yedam has said many times how important ot12 Treasure is to him, and that a member has liked posts on Weverse about ot12, and posted about Yedam. So I'm confused. If Yedam left, and ended up putting himself before ot12, his reputation would definitely take a hit. And YG could prepare him a solo comeback without leaving the group.

Just like the 3rd tweet says it hasn't been the first time he has done this he did it back in 2020, i'm pretty sure if he would have left along with mashiho YG would have written a statement. Also why leave now and not at the beginning before Treasure debuted? The idea of him leaving right now is dumb I mean Treasure is starting to become popular.

Whats goin on? Is this a new 'YG-gate' scandal?

Commercially? he's obviously not going to be big since even in treasure he's not one of the popular members . If he decided to become a full time soloist then it would be because he's the artsy type and wants to be free from idol life.

Fun fact but YG actually wanted him to become a soloist back then like AKMU & Lee Hi who also came from kpopstars, they also thought his visual wouldn't fit an idol group. It was Yedam himself insisted that he wanted to be in a group. It would be funny if he changed his mind now, in that case I don't blame the fans for turning on him.

A form of marketing? Isn't that sort of thing popular on tiktok? Pre-planting songs to build hype while pretending it was a completely natural phenomenon like with that Gayle girl and her ABCDEF U song.

But Yedam is on an indefinite hiatus for a confusing reason and isn't even active on social media. In fact, he got edited out of content they made a year ago.

Look I see what you mean, and I would definitely think you're right, if it wasn't for his hiatus. What is the point of teasing a song if Yedam's return isn't even in sight? Plus there was a leak like that two years ago, as I show in the OP, and the song never got released.

I've seen people theorize that it's still possible Yedam would want to quit because the current YG is not the same as the one he trained in for years, neither is current Treasure like the group he was initially promised to debut with (remember that they were supposed to be a Korean and a Japanese group, separately, with half the members each). But I don't know how plausible these theories are. A bit far-fetched for me. But perhaps others think otherwise.

As for the song snippets: it's weird because of the timing, and the fact he isn't active anywhere else.

I honestly think he really did went off to studying somewhere and he's not physically in Korea. The only problem here is YG being mute about it and shut off all kinds of communication, but it's quite the YG thing to do so probably there's not much to it.

Maybe it was actually from Yedi's old soundcloud account. I do remember some of the ygtb fans who was able to save yedam's unofficial released songs/covers from soundcloud and has been posting it on YT. Before yedam actually delete's it because he'll be debuting with TREASURE.

I heard there's more, but not too sure really, because they did say they weren't able to save some of his songs before the deletion.
