Why do people treat blinks like they are a bg fandom?

  • “Starved fanbase” “blinks only streaming” is commonly used when it comes to bp

Why has their success always been attributed to their hardcore fanbase, which wasn’t really that big until like 2020- square up didn’t even cross 200,000 sales by the end of 2018

    Approved the thread.
  • people hate successful gg's

that's why boy groups are the most successful ones

  • People were trying to cope with the fact that every BP cb including their debut were hits and idk, just to discredit them. Until this day we have people saying how BP will be surpassed easily :pepe-just-smile:

  • because they do have a large fanbase, and are completely fanbase-driven in the West

  • and to add to my comment: shouldn’t you be proud of having a large fanbase? i’m sure the girls prefer that to being at the mercy of randos and their fickle taste

  • Kpop is mainly fan-driven esp outside SK. The world does not tune in to other language like that. Also, just compare Kpop album sales/yt views (gg/bg) to any popular artists...

These idols know what's up and they don't really care cause they are still successful. Besides, having a big and loyal fanbase who will stream non-stop and buy albums for you is not really a bad thing...

  • They are not. Completely fanbase driven in the west are skz or twice. Bp actually do get good streams which can't be fully atributed to fandom

the Western general public has no idea who they are to this day, couldnt name a song. their streams in the West are indeed primarily

fan-driven and whatever main single they put out will get decent playlisting which is where GP may briefly stream it passively.

  • Why are Blinks ashamed of their big fandom? To cater to their fantasy that BP is GP driven? Why is GP superior to fandom? Why look down at other groups that are fandom driven?

YG sold them the lie that the “GP loves them” when they really meant that a certain member has a very loyal following in her homeland.

  • People here are really not getting my point huh

Even BEFORE bp had a big fanbase, people were using “oh blinks streaming it only” as a excuse.

Blinks were not big until 2019-20. But people were convinced that even 2017 bp was just getting carried by a big fandom like 4th gen bgs are

I’m no I’m not talking about just “western” achievements (just say us god)

Blinks wee not even the biggest gg fandom till 2020, but you never saw anyone go “once’s streaming only” :pepe-narrow-eyes:

  • their fanbase if big the biggest out of any gg they kind of move like bg fandom

  • all the bp antis are salty af here, bp has both gp and fandom now go cry elsewhere

  • Nobody outside of kpop fans actually listens to kpop. There are some southeast Asians who listens to them but other than that you can say kpop as a whole is actually driven by fanbase. Here in my country only kpop fans care about them otherwise nobody listens to them. Most of us here are kdrama fans.

40m of streams in the first week of TA aren't fandom driven streams or playlist reach. And TA charting 26 weeks due streaming is not that either, if they were fandom driven they would had stop charting by week 8 or 10, like every other kgroup, stop being so pressed
