Should Hybe let Trainee A self produce or not?

  • The first self produced group song by Trainee A to be released. Some of their fans hype the song up while others are not too sure. Do you think Hybe should let them self produce most of their songs (like Seventeen, Stray Kidz,.) or should Hybe producers do the work instead (like Txt, Enhypen, Lesserafim songs are mostly not self produced)?

  • If they want to be real artists, musician, etc, they should experiment and experience creating music.

  • First of all, it doesn't matter, because the company will hype up even a single credit behind tons of other producers.

Now answering the question: if this is the best they can do, no.

The problem is not that they're not experienced, that can be compensated for by adding a more experienced producer to the production team to help the idol producers in areas where they need help. (Btw this is not to say idol producers are lesser. A lot of non-idol producers are also specialised on parts of production, and work together with other producers. And idol producers do that on top of schedules and practice!) For instance, Woozi has always worked together with Bumzu.

The problem is that this song is empty. It's something a youtuber or tiktoker would release in hopes that it would keep their career alive for a little longer. The production and composition are generic, obnoxious even. The lyrics sound like they were told to make a song that will make people see them as underdogs who have to live in a tiny dorm because they're definitely not hybe trainees, rather than genuine poking fun at themselves.

Look at predebut 3RACHA. Did their songs have the most polished production? No. Were they overall enjoyable regardless? Yes. Why? Because they had something interesting going on. Be it lyrics about serious topics, or silliness, or quirky production choices, or just their talent being obvious. You got an idea what kind of people those three are. Meanwhile, Trainee A's song has none of that. Then what are they producing for? Who are they? What are they bringing to the kpop scene?

They don't need to be self producing, like Seventeen had to be, either. They can have expensive producers working for them from the very beginning.

  • Stop writing essays about this, the song is completely fine.

And back to your question op,No they won't be self produced, they will be like bts just heavily involved in their music.

  • This a goofy song its like a parody nothing serious

  • They can probably do better than this. Wasn’t move on produced by Leo? But since they’re rookies I do think it’s best if the company helps and they don’t too much on their own
