Should HYBE allow UMG to handle all their promotion from now on?

What’s stopping them after seeing how well their last Western partner did with Dynamite and Butter? BTS basically doubled their popularity in two years without a full album campaign AND got two Grammy noms. We all assumed them moving to UMG would mean going full speed ahead with a proper, extremely well-promoted album campaign for whatever came next…aka same level Harry Styles is getting now (from former partner Columbia, no less).

instead we got Proof and as we know, it doesn’t appear UMG is that involved, which means any real promo or playlisting will be happening with HYBE leading the charge this time. why does this keep happening and when will HYBE finally get the message? the next studio album?

this thread is about BTS obviously but I suppose could be expanded to include TXT whose deal with Republic appears to be gathering dust on a shelf…

the promotion for this album is so bad

even if UMG takes over, how would they even convince fans to buy the proof when a new full album is what they expected.

HYBE is disappointing

yeah…although I think UMG would be good at spinning it into a bigger deal with a BTS documentary (obv HYBE would need to green light this etc), vinyl, coffee table book etc and use it more as a chance to target new listeners and curiosity seekers

either way it does feel like HYBE is defiant in the face of all the recent successful singles (which were helmed externally) and wants to…prove something which remains unclear lol.

No, they just need the old Bighit team back. The PR was better then.
