    I. Introduction

    "From Home" is the 12th track on NCT's second full Korean studio album, NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1. The album was released on October 12, 2020. It was also the 15th track on the repackage, NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2.


    This album was the second all-unit album, featuring all members from all the units at the time. This included 21 members from the four units, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. The Resonance project also officially introduced two new members, Shotaro and Sungchan.


    This song is by NCT U and is in Korean and English.


    NCT U is a rotational unit where specific members are selected to match the song. This NCT U unit is a vocally driven song and features 6 of the 9 NCT main vocalists: main vocalists Taeil and Doyoung of NCT 127; Haechan, Chenle and Renjun of NCT Dream and Kun of WayV. It also features sub-vocalist Yuta of NCT 127.


    This version of the song is only in Korean and English, but there is a version on the album that also has Chinese and Japanese lyrics reflecting the members' native languages. The MV also featured members' childhood photos and their spoken phrases in their native languages. The album also has a version of this song only in Korean.


    A live version of this song "From Home (Rearranged) was performed for the 2020 MAMA Awards and featured all the group's foreign, non-Korean members appearing at the end to sing along. A version with the vocals lifted and used for a special video that highlighted the members' early years.


    The song was written by NCT's frequent collaborators minGtion, who has written many NCT ballads, and r&b singer Junny, who has also worked with all units.
