  • I. Introduction

    "Don't Fight the Feeling" is the first song and title track on EXO's seventh Korean EP, Don't Fight the Feeling. It was released on June 7, 2021, and described as a special release.


    This release features the return of Xiumin and D.O. from military service, making their first appearance on an album since Don't Mess Up My Tempo. It is also Lay's first appearance with EXO since his last appearance on the Chinese version of "Tempo" on the same album.


    Chen and Suho were both still active in their military service and do not appear on this release. The album was the group's last release before Baekhyun and Chanyeol left for their military service.


    This song is in Korean and English. The lyrics make a brief mention of running across kwangya, which is a reference to the SM Culture Universe. Kwangya is the Korean word for wilderness. In the SMCU, it is described as an alternate dimension, universe or world where the avatars live. Although EXO has had its own lore, this is the first mention in the group's songs of these SMCU elements.
