Kep1er - FIRST IMPACT

  • I. Introduction

    FIRST IMPACT is Kep1er's debut mini album. It was released on January 3, 2022 with WA DA DA serving as the title track.


    II. Background

    After Mnet's survival show Girls Planet 999 ended on October 22, 2021, preparations for Kep1er's debut were immediately started.


    Kep1er confirmed their debut date ion November 21. They revealed that they would debut in December, however, and exact day was not given.


    They started dropping image teaser on November 23, and continued to release more the days after.


    On December 4, it was announced they would suspend debut activities due to staff testing positive for COVID. The day after, they further elaborated that their debut date would be post-phoned.


    Another teaser photo was released on December 13. The day after, it was announced that members Shen Xiaoting and Sakamoto Mashiro tested positive for COVID.


    A revised debut schedule was released on December 25, and it was announced that Xiaoting and Mashiro fully recovered from COVID the next day. More teasers started releasing again from a track list, MV teasers, and a highlight medley. The MV for the title track WA DA DA and the full mini album First Impact was dropped on January 3, 2022.

    First Impact became the best selling girl group debut album on Hanteo with over 200,000 copies sold. It also debuted on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart at #2.
