I. Introduction
Timeless (텐데...) is a digital single from from NCT U, a rotational sub-unit of the boy group NCT. It is the 40th single of SM Station Season 2 and was released on January 12, 2018.
II. Background & Release
SM Station is a digital music project under SM Entertainment that involves solos or duets from members in existing SM groups, as well as opportunities for singers to experiment in other genres or collaborate with artists inside and outside of SM Entertainment. The project releases a number of singles digitally each year on digital platforms, including streaming audio like Spotify.
The NCT U sub-unit is a special promotional unit within the NCT boy group that is made up of rotational members. Members are chosen to perform based on the song and concept. As this concept was a vocally driven ballad, members of the unit included three of the main vocalists for the sub-unit NCT 127: Taeil, Doyoung and Jaehyun. Jaehyun and Doyoung also featured in separate songs in this season.
The song was also performed by these three members in their pre-debut days as part of the SM Rookies group and is described as "an emotional ballad with a lyrical piano melody with sad vocals about dreaming of a reunion with a loved one."
The song was also re-released on the NCT all-unit project, NCT 2018 Empathy, including its corresponding album.
