I. Introduction
"We DO" is a digital promotional single from the Kpop supergroup SuperM. It was released on April 9, 2021.
II. Background & Release
SuperM is a supergroup that combines members from four popular SM Entertainment groups: Taemin from Shinee, Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Taeyong from NCT 127, Mark from NCT 127 and Dream and Lucas and Ten from WayV, an NCT sub-unit.
The song was released in collaboration with Prudential Asia for their "We DO Well Together" campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign focused on "people across Asia staying well and healthy and having fun doing it." The bright, energetic, retro disco motif of the song reflected the spirit of the campaign. Taeyong had recently returned from several months hiatus for a back injury, while two of the group's vocalists were preparing to begin their mandatory military service. During the song's promotions, Baekhyun, the group's main vocalist, and Taemin, a main dancer and lead vocalist, left for their mandatory service. The group rounded out the promotions with digitally projected versions of the missing members in a special concert.
The song is entirely in English.
