WayV Dream Plan


  • I. Introduction

    WayV Dream Plan (少年威计划) follows the members of Chinese Kpop group WayV in their first reality show. Members are competing in tasks and challenges to earn their first live concert.



    II. Overview

    WayV is a permanent sub-unit of NCT. The group structure of NCT is unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the concept of NCT is an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual subunits. Currently there are 23 members in NCT, making up four individual subunits, including WayV.


    This was WayV's first reality show as a unit and the first appearance in an NCT-related reality show for Xiaojun, Hendery and YangYang.


    At the time of the show's filming, WayV had released several EPs, but were still a rookie group in their first year. Several of the older members had performed in other NCT groups, including the NCT U sub-unit, a rotational unit of members; 127, which Winwin was moved from to join WayV; or the predebut group SM Rookies.


    Members Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery and YangYang travel through China competing in challenges to earn microphones that will reward them with their first concert The challenges are all built around larger concepts like facing fears, having humility or the importance of hard work. The members also talk about their hopes and dreams and what they have given up to achieve them, such as leaving their families or training long hours.


    They also compete in mini challenges in each episode to determine teams, choose rooms, earn snacks or other things.


    The show aired between August 18-September 24, 2019 every Tuesday and Sunday on the Youku app.


    III. Episode List

    Dream Plan is available on Youku and YouTube, with multi-language subs. On YouTube, sound drops out in some episodes due to copyright issues, although subs remain onscreen. Each episode is 30-40 minutes long, except for the final performance. Although it is not considered a part of the series, the members' final 65-minute concert is also available on Youku and YouTube and part of the playlist below.

    2 Aug. 20, 2019 Members compete for the remaining ingredients, then prepare dumplings for the farmers. They also take on farm work with animals.
