I'd say NewJeans.
AESPA might have vocals and they did improve in dancing and stage presence but only Karina stands out the most in those areas (Ningning is second in line, though).
Meanwhile NewJeans don't have vocals on the level of AESPA but they still have pretty good vocals and plus all HYBE artists are strong dancers and performers so nothing more needs to be said.
Neither groups are very strong rappers (they also don't rap much) hence I'm factoring that out.
NewJeans-
- Vocals: 8/10
- Dance: 9/10
- Stage Presence: 10/10
- Rap: 4/10
AESPA-
- Vocals: 10/10
- Dance: 7.5/10 and rising
- Stage Presence: 7/10
- Rap: 6/10
Totally agree.
I see so many people in here saying that AESPA are better dancers than NewJeans and I have to respectfully disagree. While AESPA is more precise overall, NewJeans' showcases wayy more complexity than AESPA ever has which is why a lot of people say that the closer they look, NewJeans' choreography looks like organized freestyle. A lot of kpop idols have yet to showcase that much dynamics.
Edit: NewJeans has more upperbody precision. Super Shy's choreo should be a prime example of that.
Yep. NJ dancing skills are far superior to Aespa. Their choreography is very difficult. People think it's freestyle and easy, but they're wrong. They have great footwork too. If we're being honest, Karina is one of the weakest main dancers in kpop or gg in general of 4th/5th gen. Certainly weaker than the main/lead dancers from popular groups like Kyujin/Jiwoo(NMixx), Minji/Hanni/Haerin(NJ), Gaeul(IVE), Jurin/Cocona/Maya/Harvey(XG), Xiaoting/Hikaru/Dayeon(Kep1er), Iroha(Illit), all of Lesserafim just to name a few
