I think male idol soloists are less proeminent than female soloists for the same reasons boygroups are less popular among the GP than girlgroups.
The GP seems to not really be interested in male idols nowadays and they usually don't have big album sales to make up for it the way boygroups do.

But she needs to promote herself better imo. Starting from 2020 her promotion strategy got really inconsistent and it keeps killing her hype.
I am surprised reading this thread. Ladida is for me one of the best 2020 kpop release (it is personally my favorite) so hearing that such a good song made Evergloow lose fans instead of gaining them is kind of shocking.

Kang Daniel's company doesnt have anything to do with her music videos. They are only in charge of booking her on korean music and variety shows, which they are doing since she used to get little to no promotion in korea and now she gets plenty of it.
why are people getting mad over this? Of course everyone thinks their fave is the best, this is why they stan them.
it is not like this random kpop fan is the one deciding who is going to win. Awards shows have criteria, if an artits fulfil them they will win these awards anyway. Let people hype their faves in peace, it is not that deep.
Kpop is less popular than it used to be among the GP. The korean public isnt into in anymore so most kpop idols are actually not that well known despite having a strong fanbase.
It is because a lot of kpop fans seem to think their faves' success is theirs and enjoy bragging about it in ways that, a lot of times, gets pretty obnoxious.
So when their faves underperform some people jump on the occasion to point it out because they know it will hurt their pride.

Firstly, we should ask ourselves: why do teenage girls/women always tend to be the punching bags of men in power and the mainstream media? And this is not a current joke btw, this predates the Beatlemania and it's not an exclusive issue that belongs to Kpop.
Secondly, I believe it is stereotyping women because it implies only teenage GIRLS would enjoy their music when the reality is completely the opposite. Hell, even on this forum we can find people from all ages/sex enjoying their music and other bgs music. Actually, implying a fandom consists of teenage girls also means we are not here for the music, but their looks, because they're handsome men and again undermining women's preferences. Come on, how many time haven't you heard people like bgs music bc of their looks? I know it can go the other way around as for ggs music, but it's not my focus here.
And even if the stereotype is on boybands, again why do we women have always to be the punching bags? We could say the joke ends up stereotyping both fandom and women as it implies women should know better. But I've heard countless times things as: "only teenage girls would listen to this type of music" "their fandom is made out of teenage girls", this kind of sentence has a double meaning bc it can be read as: teenage girls don't know any better about music and older women shouldn't be listening to this type of music.
Of course I know boybands have a target audience, but as a woman, I'm simply tired of having my preferences looked down on by people and the media and I find it completely offensive. If you don't, that's alright, but please DO NOT diminish other women's complaints because we know what these so-called jokes might actually be referring to.

Assuming that they wouldnt be interested in a political event if it wasnt for BTS isnt related to their genders but to the fact that they are teenagers and that teenagers arent usually into Politics. Now we can argue over it being true or not but thats another debate.
The assumption that a fandom would be made out of teenager girls is more related to the fact that boysbands are designed and marketed to attract this demographic in particular. I dont think there would have been this much outrage if instead of BTS we were talking about, lets say, barbie dolls and what was implied was that only little girls are into them. Thats a common assumption because barbie dolls are marketed for this specific demographic.
Also it is pretty much a given that kpop boygroups attractiveness is based on a lot more than just the music. It is a package of a lot of things. Music is part of it but visual, fanservice and other forms of entertainment they might get involved in also are. Now you might be into it for your own reasons but thinking that part of their fans are not necessarly there for the music is not completly an absurdity.
Now I understand the frustration of being a grown ass woman and having your interest being systematically labeled as a teenager girl interest. It seems that people arent aware that there might be more to BTS than just being a product intended only for a younger audience. But once again in that case BTS (and boygroups in general) are the ones being stereotyped here.
