I think his willingness to be bold and take risks made him very influential in K-Pop/Hip-Pop. He should do a track with Jessi.

I was thinking about this during Seventeen's "Incomplete" VENEW Live concert. It wasn't boring, but I think the groups who can do harmonies properly equipped in the basics.
-
I consider this a synchronicity. Just yesterday, I was listening through my K-Pop catalog and one of my favorite Hyunseung songs played. The guitar and vocal melody of the new song is fine, but the drums didn't hit right for me. I will always listen to his new stuff.
U-Know's "Thank U" could be more appealing with some tweaks. Slower bassy trap all before the pre-chorus that kicks up twice into the chorus would have hooked my ear into listening and mentally processing the song by playing it like 3 or 4 more times straight. I think "Hit Me Up" is easily a more instantly gratifying and upbeat song that feels good. Thanks for sharing, luckyStarLight!

It could be part of the strategy of playing to their strengths and what works. That is what popular music is usually about. What works for one group doesn't always work for another. Any groups who are versatile and still distinct would be awesome. Lots of generic songs floating around for guy groups right now that sound like filler for a single group.

The approach to the music on the track isn't in the pocket and needs tweaks.
-
Lots of replay value baked into their catalog. There are songs that I personally won't listen to on a regular basis, but would still kill and feel very satisfying in a concert set. They live in vibe town and that's why I honor their music.

"Step" is the better song, but the "Mister" choreo is a part of ICONIC K-POP dance history!

The only minor issue is how people are saying the Grammys don't mean anything anymore. There still are even lesser known artists and groups who get their acknowledgement and I am pleased to find out when they do.

They are talented in two different ways...like comparing oranges and apples.

live in asia
nobody appreciate me lol
I know things are approached differently in the West and East. They probably don't appreciate you because they cannot see your worth based on material things. As long as you know your worth, it doesn't matter if they see it or not. Every life has value and this could be a way for you to add more value. If you can't land a local internship because you don't know someone, why not see what remote opportunities you can find internationally? Translation is a valuable service.
Lots of western-world internships are now happening online. If you cannot find one, there is always the alternative of volunteering with a willing company just to have some experience to list on your resume. Volunteering isn't usually paid, but it does give you the opportunity to make your own schedule. What is your level of education?

Saw this vid. That reminded me of this classic viral news vid from my area:

Real talk. Super M's "Better Days" and NCT's "From Home (Rearranged Version)" are intentionally designed to be emotionally manipulative via chords. I am not really emotional and I sense it. Listen to the instrumental of these songs to really hear the point. Very unethical.
I can't really think of any K-Pop songs that authentically made me want to cry.

I completely agree, actually. Wannabe should've been their "western debut song," Not, Not Shy.
"Wannabe" could be a good debut for a Radio Disney pre-teen/teen audience. It could be a good placement in the right animated movie too. I don't think the teams at JYPE are being mindful if they are planning a "full-tilt promotion" of a full-English version of "Not Shy" that isn't up to par lyrically. Especially the version that is available. It leaves a bad feeling in my gut. There is a high chance of being in the same boat as "Make A Wish (Birthday Song)" which was lyrically disappointing.
The last song out with similar musical elements was Jennifer Lopez's "Medicine" and even that was a little dated and didn't do anything. It is in the same funky neighborhood as "Get Right" and Amerie's "1 Thing" which are "throwback" sounds although Funk is eternal.
Now if they update the English version to be more current and do a well coordinated official global "Not Shy" Tik Tok challenge, then they might reach more casual western eyes and ears organically.

Maybe there will be a group called "Four Times" that will surpass Twice, nobody knows the future.

I would have already hit up SM to sync RV-Irene & Seulgi's "Little Monster" to a Samsung phone TV ad. It already sounds like advert featured music.

The people who have been around for a minute in my area know not to drink the tap water unless it's reverse osmosis filtered or from a natural source. Regular filters are okay if you don't have a better alternative. Boiling the tap water here won't really do anything.

Not really, because most people who aren't into kpop don't really have a negative image of kpop, tbh.
They just don't have an image of kpop, period.
Me listening to High School Musical's songs is something that I need to hide a tad more
Blast "I Don't Dance"! Not too far "outside the pocket" and neighborhood of Seventeen's "Home; Run". I'm telling you; Radio Disney! Seventeen!! What's good!!!

A lot of people have such a small bandwidth for music, that's probably true. Any agency who attempts to better get the English right. I've heard lots of fails. If I won't buy it and people who listen to K-Pop regularly aren't vibing with it, why would casual listeners? Agencies really need to ask effective questions like:
- Would a new or current American or UK artist/group use these words in 202X?
- Are there too many syllables in the English lyrics?
- Does the English version sound/feel natural and unforced?
