    How is Gaon filtering zombie streamers? I thought Gaon's just an aggregator, they're dependent on the digital music platforms to provide them with the figures, but aren't those figures not simply end results per platform?


    And how can you bulk buy downloads? I thought downloads are more trustworthy than streams, since each person can only download a song once, so each download is 1 person, while with streams a fan can easily spam stream a song with the result that 1 hardcore fan who spam streams can equal dozens of other less active song listeners.

    I never understood this. Maybe it's how their album sales are marketed?

    But even Big Bang, the most popular boy group for years with the best, largest concert and touring numbers, had sales that werent on the same level as their popularity and that fell behind.


    This is what it looked like in album sales in 2010-2015:


    EXO: 400-600k

    Super Junior: 400-600k

    SNSD: 400-500k (and 1 million for their first Japanese album)

    TVXQ: 300-400k (and 600k in 2008)

    SHINee: 250-350k

    Big Bang: 250-350k



    Both concert tour numbers and album sales are indicative of fanbase size.

    Yet while Big Bang's concert tour numbers were in line with their popularity, album sales were a lot less.

    It's strange.
