SM artists don't have as much freedom as some other companies while producing music. Also, SM has rights over whatever they produce and can give music produced by one idol to another without their consent. Yes, some older groups are able to produce some tracks but they still have limited or less freedom compared to their peers.

This could be good for SM artists. Maybe they will finally be able to create their own music and showcase their talent.

Anyway, I am very removed from kpop now but, as a fan of kpop when SM held most of the top kpop groups, this feels like an end of an era. There's a lot of things wrong with SM but it did give kpop its most iconic groups for years now. It was a good run honestly. Not many companies can survive as long as SM did.

Interesting that SM didn't have a better plan if they were going to oust Lee Soo Man.

I will be honest. AllKill doesn't tempt me. I only subscribed to contribute to a user's funeral costs. I won't renew my subscription once it's over as well. Sure, we can use akorns to buy physical items but I can find a wider selection and a more competitive price outside allkpop. Also, you would have to post a lot to be able to afford most of the items without purchasing additional akorns...so it not an incentive.

If you want to drive sales, maybe you could also create different grades of membership (maybe a cheaper option with less features). Also, this maybe a bit extreme but you could have incentives like, if someone signs up in the year and maintains their subscription for say 6 months, their name will be entered to win something...but it needs to be something good like a gift card or something else that can be used outside allkpop as well.
