Kpop didn't lose Kim Minju to the actress disease, they lost her to unemployment

  • Can't believe it's been more than one year, and Kim Minju is still unable to get an acting role, not even on a webdrama.

Girl didn't want to say yes to a redebut project with ex-Iz*One members Sakura and Chaewon under Hybe/Big Hit/SouMu, and now the only redeeming "project" is a music show host role with MBC, and even that's anticipated to be ending soon. Sources say she wanted to pursue an acting career, and has been auditioning for roles, but there's been no projects at all? For one whole year? What is happening?

    Approved the thread.
  • She could've make hybe sign a contract of her own choice just like what sakura did. Sakura is signed to 2 companies and have solo activities prior to debut. She even launched her makeup line. Minju should've done the same.

She'll not be getting lead roles in bigger projects that's just how kdrama industry works unless you've connections they prefer experiences actors. If some show about high schoolers or idols starts I see him getting those gigs.

  • sorry izone fans but i'm glad she declined the offer because lesserafim now has kazuha who i think brings something fresh to the group

No one is asking her to get a lead role in some big project straight away. She hasn't even had a web-drama or supporting roles in the whole year. Whereas even Yena who's busy with a solo debut and multiple variety roles had a webdrama, and Yena's not even going down the actress career.

I'm very well aware of how kdrama works, and outside of super well-known and popular idols, most start with web-dramas and small roles to gain experience, but Minju flat out had no acting projects, or casting news? She hasn't even started filming anything? Filming normally takes like half a year, so even if news come out tomorrow about her in a drama, that means she would've already had one and a half year of no activity (outside of MC hosting and some occassional variety appearances). That's absolutely unheard of.

  • oh well, the only thing she had to offer were her visuals and there's always a thousand more pretty girls looking to break into kpop

  • Is she a good actress tho? She seems kind of bland.
