Even if bp magically comes back this year, i know they will probably get 4 songs and send off to a tour in a hurry. I know the company really wants the hype for them to die so that they are the ones who have the leverage and most say. Discuss.

If that's the case then please explain the huge budget Blackpink had for their debut and why Teddy probably koreas most successful producer of the past 15 years is almost exclusively producing for Blackpink?

1. Check the debut mv for Winner and Ikon since you talked about 3rd gen male groups. After that watch Blackpinks debut mvs again.
2. Selfproduced doesn't mean they do everything alone. Teddy did tons of Bigbang songs together with G-Dragon but pretty much never with Winner or Ikon.
3. Sure Teddy will have a preference but do you really think YG couldn't ask him to do a song for Winner or Ikon?

Yes, YG are intentionally trying to kill their biggest money maker because their goal as a company is to lose money.
If that's their goal they are doing things terribly. Everything bp releases becomes a massive hit and they can sell albums+merchandise like crazy. Not releasing anything in 2021 was just dumb as hell, it hurts potential touring, what makes the most money by far

Blackpink the last group they put thought into?? Blackpink were just the last trainees standing. YG wanted a 9 member group. Apparently he said that he debuted them as a courtesy for their years in the trainee system. They were given 2NE1's cast-offs from day one. There's no way YGE could foresee how popular Blackpink would get. (I also think they are in a state of quiet horror that a Thai girl is in danger of becoming the face of their company. They use her for money, but they stopped updating her sales months ago.)
But I agree they are arrogant enough to think they can ditch them for a 4th gen group and get the same results.

BP are celebrities beyond the idol life. They don't release music frequently because they are not focused on idol music. See the bigger picture how popular are the girls in WW socialite circle? the amount of connections they must have made by being ambassadors of so many brands. They are set for life with the type of career path they have now.
