why do people undermine yujin's contribution to ive?

i feel like whenever people are talking about ive popularity, wonyoung gets all the credit but i feel like yujin also brings in a lot of fans. both the girls bring in hype from izone but only wonyoung seems to get credited and while obviously, wonyoung is more popular, yujin's charm is different from wonyoung and she attracts a different crowd of people to ive.

not only that, she is the group's leader and a really good one at that.

Yujin definitely helped with IVE's hype and popularity. She is the second most popular Ive member. But at this point Ive is bigger than Izone (charts/sales) and Wonyoung's contribution is considered bigger because she is 4th gen's it girl so that draws a lot more attention than people that just know them from Izone.

She's their allrounder, and prob most talented member all-around. I feel like even though she's technically the "main vocal" Liz is the stronger vocalist and gets credit for that, and in terms of dancing, people like to push Gaeul as she doesn't get any other promotion, so Yujin gets kinda left out in the talents discussion. Rei == rapper, LeeSeo for cute personality..etc.

She's still super popular but some missteps by starship (changing her name from Ahn Yujin so her brand reputation dropped) have made her lose a bit of her hype.

Why are you saying undermine? The definition of "undermine" is purposely weakening or sabotaging someone. And in that case, who exactly is doing that to Yujin? It may not have been the intention, but what you are saying sounds really badly phrased and it feels like trying to pit the girls against each other.

Wonyoung is super popular, and so if she gets mentioned a lot more (not just in comparison to Yujin, but to most 4th gen idols) that can't be helped. Wonyoung is the 4th gen it girl, after all. That doesn't mean that people don't appreciate Yujin or that she doesn't have a lot of popularity in her own right (the girl literally just became a global ambassador for Versace). When it comes to IVE, Yujin is always toted as the ace and all-rounder of the group, someone they can't do without. And while Wonyoung is mentioned a lot, when people discuss IVE's rocket to success they don't typically just refer to Wonyoung. They will say "the two ex-iz*one members" or "well, they have two ex-Iz*One members, what did you expect?" And for fans, they even have a duo name "Annyeongz" that they love to call them.

how is my intent malicious? ive loved and followed both girls since produce48, seen how hard they both worked in izone, and even now how hard they work for ive. but people just praise wonyoung and discredit yujin. as a fan, am i not allowed to be upset that yujin's efforts are not being acknowledged despite working equally as hard as wonyoung. i never even said anything to put wonyoung down i just want ppl to acknowledge and praise yujin more.

Wonyoung stans act like she's the only idol ever who has endorsements, and hypes her up to be the biggest it girl on the planet. Yujin is a lot more natural on variety shows, shows a lot more personality and is a lot versatile as an idol entertainer.

Because wonyoung is just too popular she's the it girl in sk but yujin does bring some fans too.

I always liked her aura as a non fan and considered her one of the most popular member I didn't know that there would be a huge popularity difference between her and wonyoung.
