About Mingyu's collage and misogyny

  • the day bg stans could accept that some oppas are misogyny and anti feminism it's the day we can finally find peace. Hey the statictis said that 50-70% of korean men in 20's are anti feminism so it's safe to say that 50% of male idol have the same sentiment too

I'm not denying that Mingyu could be a misogynist, I'm just saying we don't know and that spreading misinformation to further the narrative that he is is wrong. Unless he makes a statement about his instagram post, we'll never know what it meant.

And it's weird to want to assume the worst in people. By your logic, we should assume all idols are racist and homophobic since a lot of people are instead of assuming the best in people or even just being a normal neutral and not making your own assumptions on them. There's definitely misogynistic, homophobic, racist, and more idols but unless they do something to directly prove it, it's not our place to assume that of them.

It's already 3rd issues of him. People in other countries in their beds knows about blue and red thing in SK, how come his fans saying that it's coincidence when he's living in SK . Either he's plain stupid or supporting the misogyny president or can be both. He's a voter so he clearly knows about the colors.

What proof that you need more? He obviously have a certain ideology and political views. If you keep being like this at the end of the day you'll be dissapointed.

Being a fan is ok because they are celebrities however let's not forget they are just like any other person/commoner . You should be aware since SK has a conservative society especially korean men .

  • Some people here have made it their jobs to speculate, follow the mob mentality, and then accuse others without any prior knowledge.

Literally no one or their mamas in South Korea care what Mingyu wore. Majority of the Koreans have already cleared that wearing red or blue in your daily life holds no political significance unless you are participating in the rallies. It’s these superficial “activist” that need another goat for their witch-hunt. Their faves must’ve been very boring for them to latch onto someone they don’t even stan.

Treat these people with the same energy, then all of sudden it’s bullying and harassment. They are no better than what they are falsely accusing Mingyu of, in fact, they are much worse.

  • You're skipping over the fact that it's an old picture, and idols have been paying special care not to wear red and blue this week.

It could also because Seventeen is literally promoting Power Of Love, and their wall is all covered in red? He posted them around the same time? What happened to benefit of the doubt??

People are quick to jump to bandwagon with evidence as small as a grain of salt. Numerous idols have worn red in the past couple days, seen no one calling them out. Ppl saw two rookie groups be careful and ran with “everyone is being careful with colours why can’t he?” When literally 10 other idols posted and performed in red. See the direction of biased and superficial activist energy? Im sure you probably do. Which is a big issue in this industry, labelling people without concrete evidence is truly dangerous.

  • If you or anyone else want to repost what I wrote as thread in the main forum, please go ahead and do it. I don't mind and would actually really appreciate it. I've just seen the amount of hate going around right now and don't want to be attacked.

You're right that not many people have seen this due to it being in anons so it could actually help a lot.

Is it okay if repost it on the main forum?

  • and its lowkey a reach to be sure he voted, the turn up rate was only 70% this year...

  • His main opponent is also openly misogynistic. The dude was caught publicly posting gross comments about what he wanted to do sexually to women, including a member of a fourth gen GG. Violent stuff too, you can find it online. Female voters were in a tough spot this time. Both the top candidates hate them.

    what?link.

True op i don't get why people keep assuming the worst and spread misinformation just because of a single red shirt.

Yes you can! I would actually appreciate it. Just copy and paste the whole thing I guess. I'd recommend replacing the red heart tweet for #5 with this one though. The person who tweeted it added more examples underneath and seem to be the original.

It's not his 3rd though, it's his 1st and not even one that's rock solid evidence. The bullying scandal has been proven false and knetz don't even use it against him, only ifans do. The collage is honestly just an art piece he made and I already explained the most likely explanation for it that most people who aren't looking for someone to witch hunt agree upon. I wonder how the people freaking out over this piece would survive art galleries with actual "controversial" art, art generally isn't just a pretty rainbow over a grass field. It's meant to invoke some thought/analysis/feelings of it. If you only look at it for what it physically is and not what it means, of course you wouldn't get it.

Unfortunately looks like no one is planning on reposting but at least it seems to have blown over a bit... until the next time when someone twists another thing he does again and brings up these exact same issues and everyone conveniently ignores all the explanations we have given 100 times already. :-) Yay kpop!
